Admission process

The PPGDI Selection Process is annual, and is initiated in each year, when the Notification is published.
1. Undergraduate course
Every candidate should present an undergraduate diploma recognized by Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC).
2. Language Proficiency of the English Language
Every candidate should present proficiency of at least one foreign language (spanish, french, english, german or italian). The foreign language proficiency certificate should be presented upon enrolment or up to 18 months after the enrolment date.
The following proficiency certificates will be accepted, acquired up to 2 years prior to enrolment, emitted by (a):
- PROFLIN-ILEEL-UFU (http://www.ileel.ufu.br/proflin)
- Higher education institutions;
- TESEPrime (www.teseprime.org);
- Cambridge from the Intermediate level;
- Michigan;
- Toefl with a minimum of 500 points in the printed test or 230 in the electronic test;
- TOEIC;
- IELTS;
- Goethe Institute, with a minimum level of M III or C1;
- D.E.L.F/D.A.L.F or equivalents;
- Italian Institute of Culture, lato sensu test;
- Miguel de Cervantes Institute, DELE B2.
Observation: Non-native portuguese-speaking students proficiency of portuguese
Students from a non-native portuguese-speaking background should also present a portuguese proficiency certificate, in the same conditions and terms for the previous proficiency certificate, from either:
- PROFLIN-ILEEL-UFU (http://www.ileel.ufu.br/proflin); or
- CELPE-BRAS (http://www.mec.gov.br/sesu/celp.shtm).
